Hunting In Converse County
Converse County is a veritable hunter's dream, with its 4,000 spacious acres, teeming with wild game of every variety. From elk to mule deer to antelope, the sage-brush prairies and nearby Laramie Range peaks offer unparalleled access to the West's big game. Hunters can also set their cross hairs on big horn sheep, bear, and mountain lion when in season.

Hunting Birds
Waterfowl and bird sportsmen take note, as geese, ducks, turkeys, and doves can all be found within the county.

Fishing
Walleye and trout are here for the anglers, with their significant presence in the North Platte River and Glendo Reservoir.

Hunter's Bar-B-Ques
Hunter's Bar-B-Ques are held on October 2 and 16, when the Douglas Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses team up to feed hungry hunters in the halls of the Plains Complex on East Richards Street. Hunters can expect an unforgettable spread of wild game entrees, veggies, salads, and rolls. These events also feature prizes, contests, and giveaways from local businesses.
