Purpose
Emergency sirens are used to alert the citizens of Douglas of emergencies. Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. the sirens will be sounded for any emergency requiring the Douglas Volunteer Fire Department(s) to respond. These emergencies include traffic crashes, structure fires, and wild-land fires, etc.
Whenever the Civil Defense Outdoor Warning sirens are activated and sound a steady 3 minute blast, you should tune to the cable television system or to KKTY AM radio (1470) for up-to-date emergency information.
Scheduled Tests
10:30 a.m. on the First Saturday of each month
