Minimum Requirements for Employment
- Be a United States citizen
- You must have or be able to obtain a valid Wyoming Driver's License.
- High school graduate or GED certificate of equivalence
- Be able to legally possess a firearm under State and Federal law.
- Any drug use/involvement is subject to review to determine suitability for employment
- Complete all phases of the hiring process.
Recommended Preparation for Employment
- Two years college-level work in police science, law enforcement criminology or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preference given to Wyoming POST certified or certifiable officers.
Necessary Skills and Abilities Include
- Knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques and equipment.
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and determine the proper course of action.
- Ability to perform work requiring good physical condition.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Skill in the use and care of firearms and operation of a motor vehicle.
